One regret I have is not trying harder at hockey during high school. I know how much I enjoy hockey now and how good I actually can be now but at the time, hockey was pretty much a distraction in my life - I’d go and play and that was it. I was obsessive about school — it was the sport I was good at — and basically didn’t care about anything else in my life.

As I approach turning 30, I wonder if the lesson here is one that I need to re-learn or at least re-embody. Will I look back on these days for not making the most out of them and how enjoyable they were?
